New launch site in Bryansk: Russia's drones have a shorter route to Kiev

Ever since Russian efforts to attack Ukraine stalled, the Kremlin has been terrorizing the country with constant drone strikes. After being fired from Krasnodar for a long time, Russia is now choosing a launch site that is closer to Kiev, British intelligence suspects.

According to British estimates, Russia is now using another launch site for attack drones in its war against Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense in London announced that the most recent attacks on Sunday were probably launched from the western Russian region of Bryansk. Previously, only one location in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar had been used since mid-December.

"A second launch site would give the Russians another axis of attack, closer to Kiev," says the report, which is based on British intelligence. "This will likely reduce time in the air over Ukraine and is an attempt to spread Ukraine's anti-aircraft defenses further."

Sunday's attacks, in which 11 of 14 so-called kamikaze drones were shot down, according to Ukrainian sources, were the first since mid-February, the ministry said. The drop in pace with the Iranian-made drones showed that Russia is running out of supplies.

The British Ministry of Defense has published daily updates on the course of the war since the start of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, citing intelligence information. In doing so, the British government wants to both counter the Russian portrayal and keep allies in line. Moscow accuses London of a disinformation campaign.
