The lifeless body of David García Mitogo, the Atlético Arnoia footballer who disappeared on May 11, has been located in the Avia river by members of the Ribadavia Supramunicipal Emergency Group (Ourense).

The body of the 32-year-old player has been found in A Reza, in the Ourense municipality of Arnoia, according to sources from the Civil Guard.

The body was found in the vicinity of the A Barca bridge, an area in which the search operation was focused after a coat that could be the missing person's was located.

The footballer was last seen on the morning of Thursday, May 11, in a bar in Arnoia, the town where he lived.

At first, the operation focused on the bridge that connects the Ourense municipalities of Arnoia and Ribadavia, where the soccer player's mobile phone was located, who sent a series of messages to his relatives hours before the trace was lost.

Born in Equatorial Guinea, Mitogo trained in the lower categories of Club Deportivo La Morenica and Sociedad Deportiva Ponferradina and spent a good part of his career in Galician teams such as O Barco, SD Compostela, As Somozas and Arenteiro
