This comes from a response from the Ministry of the Interior to a request from the transport policy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group, Miguel Klauß. Accordingly, the police registered 46 wedding parades between May and October. According to a previous request, there were 49, but for the more than double period from March 2021 to April 2022.
Regarding the increase in the number of cases, it should be noted that “due to the pandemic, fewer weddings could take place in the previous period under review,” writes State Secretary Wilfried Klenk in the paper available to the dpa. The police also recorded several criminal offenses and administrative offenses, such as disturbance of the peace, coercion in traffic and violations of the weapons law.
