Bavaria: Action for zero-euro tickets in Nuremberg Central Station

Nuremberg (dpa/lby) - Five activists poured sacks of "zero-euro tickets" printed on colorful leaves from the gallery into the central hall in Nuremberg's main train station on Sunday. The head of operations of the federal police, Albert Blersch, said: "Real leaflets!" An activist abseiled from the gallery until a height rescuer from the fire brigade intervened. The police had been on site with considerable forces because of the soccer game 1. FC Nuremberg – FC Magdeburg and were able to intervene quickly. Four activists were prevented from abseiling as well.

The action caused a stir and hampered travel - including a good 10,000 football fans who arrived at the main train station on the S-Bahn and wanted to continue. But the travelers had reacted very understandingly overall, emphasized the police leader.

In their "political art campaign", the activists criticized the 49-euro ticket planned by the federal and state governments as too expensive. In a press release by the group, activist Florian Martin said: "We demand free public transport for everyone! The climate crisis is progressing and motorized private transport continues to pour petrol into the fire".
