Almost 200 lbs of prohibited Mexican bologna has been confiscated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents in the New Mexico/Mexico boundary, the bureau affirmed in a discharge.
A number of these bologna was found at the motorist's luggage.
Mexican bologna is illegal in the U.S. since it might introduce foreign animal diseases in the U.S. pork business, CBP stated in the discharge. The meat has been ruined.
"It's essential that travellers know they should announce all things they're hauling from overseas to prevent penalties and fines," CBP Columbus Port Director Tony Hall stated from the launch . "A correctly announced banned item can be left in the interface without outcome."
