Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Investigations into attacks on the police and authorities

Laage (dpa / mv) - In the small town of Laage (Rostock district), the police are investigating in connection with attacks on several official buildings and a bank. As a police spokesman said on Friday, windows on the listed town hall and a bank on the market were smashed on Wednesday evening. Previously, unknown persons had already destroyed the front door of a building with several apartments in which the police are housed using pyrotechnics with high explosive power on Monday night. State security took over the investigation there. So far, no suspect has been found.

In the last incidents at the town hall, which is also the administrative headquarters of the Laage office for surrounding communities, and the bank, an approximately 20 to 30-year-old and dark-clad perpetrator was observed. He smashed windows with a previously unknown object and then fled.

The criminal police were able to secure traces. Investigators are hoping for clues from witnesses. The motives of the perpetrators are still unclear in all cases. The total damage is estimated at a five-digit sum. Nobody got hurt.
