Saxony: Augustusburg's anniversary show extended into the summer

Augustusburg (dpa/sn) - The large exhibition on the 450th anniversary of Augustusburg is being extended. It was originally supposed to close at the end of this week, but it can now be seen until July 30th, as the castle operations announced on Tuesday. This was justified with the great response, for example, from cultural tourists. The Renaissance castle, also known as the "Crown of the Ore Mountains", was built between 1568 and 1572 on a 500 meter high cliff as a hunting lodge and summer residence.

The multimedia jubilee show "Elector with Vision - The Life and Work of Father August of Saxony" deals in 13 themed rooms with the historical background, the construction of the palace and, above all, the life and work of Elector August and his wife Anna. The exhibition opened at the end of April.
