After a new day of marathon meetings with the Government, judges and prosecutors maintain the strike and will meet again with representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Treasury next Wednesday with the aim of achieving a greater salary increase.
According to sources present in the negotiation to EL MUNDO, the Government has improved this Monday its initial offer for the remuneration of the togados by two million; now offers 46.7 million euros as a global salary improvement item. The groups of judges and prosecutors will study the Executive's proposal again before the new meeting scheduled for next week but they maintain that the salary increase cannot only be linear but must contemplate improvements in other remuneration concepts such as guards or the payment of the trienniums. The indefinite strike called for the next day 16 is maintained for the moment.
In the meeting held last week by the remuneration table -the competent body to negotiate the salary increase of the togados-, the representative of the Ministry of Finance, in this case the Secretary of State for Public Function, Lidia Sánchez-, offered up to 44.5 million euros to improve the salaries of judges and prosecutors, benefiting one-person bodies more than collegiate bodies in the plan designed by the Government.
At next week's meeting, the associations of judges and prosecutors will try to achieve greater remuneration for variables such as guards or three-year terms, indicate the sources consulted.
For the togados, the salaries of the guards are especially bloody, which are usually paid from 0.47 to 3.12 euros gross per hour, reaching 0.38 euros per hour in the case of single-person bodies that are mixed courts unique in our country. In the case of the trienniums, these groups denounce that there is an inequality, since they assure that they are not being remunerated according to the rest of the officials of the State Administration.
The second meeting held this Monday was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Finance, the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), the State Attorney General's Office and the associations of judges - the Professional Association of the Magistracy, the Francisco of Vitoria, the Association of Judges and Judges for Democracy and the Independent Judicial Forum-, as well as members of the prosecutors' collectives, such as the Association of Prosecutors, the Progressive Union of Prosecutors and the Professional and Independent Association of Prosecutors.
