The economic difficulties derived from the pandemic have caused the disappearance of 22,104 companies in Spain in the first ten months of the year, 23.05% more than those were dissolved by all 2020, according to the latest report of competitions and dissolutions of INFORMA D & B .

The Community of Madrid is the region in which more companies - the majority micro-enterprises - have cast close so far this year: in total 6,191, 24% more than last year.

He is followed by Andalusia, with 2,979 solutions; The Valencian Community, with 2,651; and Catalonia, with 1.809, in the accumulated of the first ten months of the year

In most cases (17,048) the closures have been voluntary by entrepreneurs who could not sustain the activity, although fusion closures have also occurred (2,093), by judicial order (1,860) or by other causes (971 ).

Construction and real estate activities are the sectors in which the greater number of companies have had to lower the blind so far from 2021 (5,259 companies in total), although there have also been many trade closures (4,317), business services in General (3,621) and Industry (1,769).

In the hospitality, one of the areas of activity most hit by the pandemic, there have been 1,381 closures, 34% more than in 2020.

"In the first ten months of the year, three sectors have concentrated almost 60% of total solutions: construction and real estate activities, with 23.79%, trade, with 19.53% and business services, with 16, 38%, "explains Informa.

In addition to these closures, until the month of October there have been 4,933 companies that have entered the creditors' contest, 13% more than the total contests that occurred throughout 2020.

All sectors see the number of competitions since January, except communications that cut around 1%. The most affected are trade, with 1,025, and construction and real estate activities, with 909. Hospitality is the third, reaches 794, and the one that sums more in this period in absolute value, 479, an advance of 152%.

"The increase in competitions has been observed in almost all communities, especially in Catalonia and Madrid. During this period, the most affected sectors have been hospitality and real estate buildings and activities," they point out.

In the last month, the competitions have increased by 585, the highest figure since July. Of the total contests presented, 85.98% correspond to microenterprises, 12.99% to small companies, and 1.03% to medium.
