The Emmy improve the audience of recent years with their face-to-face gala

The Emmy managed to reverse their decline of hearings by giving 7.4 million viewers with Sunday's gala, a significant 16% more than last year.

The Nielsen consultancy noted that the 2021 gala was more often followed by the 2020 ceremony, which marked a historic minimum with 6.1 million viewers, and also that of 2019, which had an audience of 6.9 million.

Last year and with the pandemic as an obstacle, the entertainment industry's deliveries -oscar, Grammy, Golden Globes and Emmy-registered minimum audience with their virtual formats.

Although already before the pandemic, the great deliveries of prizes had several years of falling in their television audience accumulating historical minimum without brake.

The Emmy tried to change the dynamics by recovering a certain normality, although with a reduced-shaped gala and without emitting the traditional red carpet, which coincided with the NFL meeting between Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys.

Regarding the prizes, Netflix devastated the crops of The Crown (Best Drama) and Lady Gambit (Best Miniseries) to make a total of 44 Awards between artistic and technical categories, a record of prizes that only only held The CBS from the 1974 gala.

Apple TV +, the platform of the technological company, got his first grand prize thanks to Ted Lasso, awarded as Best Comedy.

In the categories of interpretation, three veteranas of the industry were distributed the most important awards: Kate Winslet (miniseries), Olivia Colman (Drama) and Jean Smart (comedy).

Josh O'Connor (Drama), Ewan McGregor (miniseries) and Jason Sudeikis (comedy) triumphed into the male section.
