Mount Aso, the main volcano on the Japanese South Kyushu island, has entered eruption on Wednesday morning, as reported by the country's weather agency.

The eruption has occurred at 11.43 (local time) in the number one crater and has forced the level three volcanic alert level, reports the Japanese Kiode Agency.

The volcanic ash has flown over a kilometer from the crater and has reached a height of about 3,500 meters, has specified the meteorological agency, which has also warned Kyushu residents that they do not approach the volcano under any circumstance.

At the moment, no injuries have been informed by the eruption of the volcano located in the southwest of Japan, which has 1,592 meters high.

Japan is surrounded by a volcano belt on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and houses more than 100 active volcanoes, of which about 50 are constantly monitored.
