According to the Alpine rescue center of Italian customs, two Swiss mountaineers were killed on the Matterhorn.
The Val d'Aosta Alpine Rescue located at approximately 3,100m above sea level recovered the bodies and transported them to Cervinia.
According to Ansa, the two mountaineers were killed in the Lion's Ridge region.
