On June 28, the city of Madrid will celebrate International LGBTIQ Pride Day, the main act of MADO 2023 (Madrid Pride).

From Friday, June 23 to July 2, the Madrid capital will also host different activities and celebrations. Festive acts that will have their high point with the traditional proclamation in Plaza Pedro Zerolo in the Chueca neighborhood and with the demonstration through the streets of Madrid on July 1.

Last year 2022, more than two million people participated in the main act of the festival, the demonstration, which also included a parade of 50 floats from different institutions and organizations.

MADO 2022 was part of the celebrations that the European Pride Organizers Association (EPOA) also organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the first EuroPride, held in London in 1992.

Throughout these years, the Spanish capital has also been a protagonist in the history of the international event, since it has hosted two EuroPrides and one WorldPride.

On this occasion, the proclamation of Mado 2023 will be in charge of La Plexy. Thus, he takes over from Chanel, the queen of Eurovision 2022, who was in charge of making the proclamation last year.

On the other hand, the Mexican singer Paulina Rubio will be awarded the Mr Gay Spain 2023 award for her support for the rights of the LGTBI collective.

The award ceremony will take place on June 30 and will be the star performance of the contest in Madrid. In 2022 the winner was Isabel Pantoja.
