Bac 2022. Bac with honors: These three bonuses can help you earn hundreds of Euros

These candidates represent 86% of the 709,000 applicants for the 2022 Baccalaureate. Some have even managed to get a mention. This added value can have a positive effect on their CVs and help them to continue their higher education studies. It can also make them huge profits. Crous (Regional Center for University and School Works), municipalities and regions, as well as banks, all have their hands full to recognize the graduates emeritus. Certain bonuses can be cumulative, making the reward even more appealing.

Although its amount has been decreased, it is still one of the most valuable aids. The CROUS merit aid of 900 euro per year is available to students who have been awarded the mention ''Very Good'' in their baccalaureate.

You must first send a student social record (DES) to the organization. Then, you will need to join a higher education institution in the beginning of the 2022 academic calendar year. The rectorate will send the list of graduates to the Crous directly after they have received a rating of ''Very Good''. The Crous will notify you if your DES is accepted. This merit aid is an additional scholarship that is based on social criteria. You can combine it with international mobility assistance and one-off assistance.

Merit-based assistance is granted for three years, but can be rescinded if it is repeated, unless it is medically justified.

Crous isn't the only organization that rewards new graduates. Bonuses are often offered by local councils, regional or departmental councils, and town halls.

High school students in France's Ile-de-France receive a 1,000 euro merit scholarship because of the mention of ''Very Good''. It's only 500 euros for the same mention in Auvergne Rhone-Alpes. But it's still a significant boost!

Banks also offer a small prize to help attract and retain customers in the future. Societe Generale and BNP Paribas offer 80 euros to high school graduates when they open an account. This must be done before September 1.

The CIC (2) mentions that the amount is different depending on which category you are in. 40 euros for "Fairly Good", 80 euros "Good", and 160 euros "Very Good". If you don't have one, you will need to open one.

These rewards are paid on condition that you have or open an account (or savings account) at the bank concerned, and upon presentation of the transcript.

You should also be aware of the fact that not all banks accept euros but will offer vouchers. You can also collect vouchers from regional banks like Caisse d’Epargne and Banques Populaires or Credit Agricole. Bonuses may be offered in some regions but not others.
