Baden-Württemberg: Bietigheim handball players collect next defeat

Ludwigsburg (dpa/lsw) - The handball players of SG BBM Bietigheim missed the hoped-for revenge in the Champions League against HC Odense and had to accept the next setback. A three-goal lead at half-time was not enough for the German champions to win the game they had hoped for in Ludwigsburg in a 24:27 (16:13) win against the Danish team. At half-time, coach Markus Gaugisch's team was up 16:13. After almost ten minutes of the second half, however, the hosts fell behind and were now six goals behind.

With six goals, Julia Maidhof was the most successful thrower of the team, which had to accept their second defeat in a row in the Champions League. In Group A, the women from Bietigheim slipped down to fourth place behind Odense. The chance for the next sense of achievement in the premier class is on January 8th in the away game at Slovenian club Krim Ljubljana.

At the end of October, the impressive winning streak of the top German team ended in Denmark. After 63 games without defeat across all competitions, the handball team of SG BBM Bietigheim lost 24:31 at Odense Handbold.
