Baden-Württemberg: car burns at the gas station: preliminary investigations initiated

Sindelfingen (dpa / lsw) - After a man left his burning car at the Sindelfingen Forest rest area on Autobahn 8, the public prosecutor's office and the police have initiated an investigation. A police spokesman said on Tuesday that it was being investigated for causing a fire hazard. The man left his smoking car near a gas station on Sunday, where it caught fire. Witnesses put out the fire. According to the police, a technical defect could have been the cause of the fire. The man and his three passengers took a taxi to Stuttgart Airport - from there the family probably flew abroad. The police could not reach them at first.
