Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - The contract of national ice hockey player Lean Bergmann with the Adler Mannheim is suspended until December 27th. The striker gave family reasons for his decision, as the club of the German Ice Hockey League announced on Thursday. In the future he will appear for the league rivals Iserlohn Roosters in order to be closer to his homeland.
"Of course, the temporary separation from Lean leaves a gap that we can only close by joining forces. He was and is an integral part of our squad, his qualities are undisputed. However, in this case private reasons clearly take precedence," said the sports manager Jan-Axel Alavaara on Bergmann, who made 32 appearances last season. In the final phase of the season he had to pause due to heart muscle inflammation.
