Baden-Württemberg: Energy supplier EnBW is building the largest solar park in the southwest

Emmingen-Liptingen (dpa/lsw) - The energy company EnBW is building the largest solar park in the state to date in the Tuttlingen district. According to information from Tuesday, the more than 32,000 solar modules on 15 hectares in the municipality of Emmingen-Liptingen should generate an amount of electricity that mathematically covers the needs of around 5,800 households. "With the environmentally friendly electricity, around 12,750 tons of carbon dioxide can be avoided," said the Karlsruhe utility. A green area for animals is to be created under the modules. The plan is for the solar park to be connected to the grid by the end of this year.

"It is gratifying that the development period of around two years can be regarded as very short in the current environment," said EnBW project manager Tim Morath at the groundbreaking ceremony, according to the announcement. "Despite all the complexity, it shows that if the project developer, owner, municipality and district office pull together, the projects can progress quickly."
