Östringen (dpa / lsw) - A resident was slightly injured in a fire in an apartment building in Östringen (Karlsruhe district). Emergency services rescued the wheelchair user from her smoky basement apartment on Sunday morning, according to the fire brigade. She was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Firefighters got 12 other residents out, but none were injured.
Accordingly, a switched-on stove had caused the fire by setting other objects on fire. The extent of the damage was initially unknown, but only the kitchen equipment was damaged. The fire brigade cleared the building of the smoke with a high-performance fan.
