Gärtringen (dpa / lsw) - A high level of property damage and an initially uninhabitable house - that is the balance sheet of a fire in Gärtringen (Böblingen district). A fire broke out in a room of a former hotel, the police said on Tuesday. When the fire brigade arrived on Monday evening, the room on the first floor was already on fire. The house, in which mostly temporary workers were housed, was completely evacuated in the evening and locked for the time being. Some of the 22 residents came to an emergency shelter. One man suffered minor injuries from the fire and smoke. The damage caused is estimated at 200,000 euros. The police are investigating the cause of the fire.
