Baden-Württemberg: Flooded streets after storms in the Rhine-Neckar region

Wiesloch (dpa / lsw) - After storms in the Rhine-Neckar region, several cellars filled up and streets were flooded. A spokesman for the integrated control center for Heidelberg and the Rhein-Neckar district in Ladenburg spoke of around 50 missions for the rescue services on Friday evening. The focus is on the municipalities of Nußloch, Wiesloch and Sandhausen in the Rhein-Neckar district. Forces from fire brigades from surrounding, less affected communities would now be pulled together to get the event under control.

Flooded roads also temporarily affected the work of rescue workers. So far, however, no injuries have been reported as a result of the storm, said the control center spokesman.

The German weather service also warned of severe thunderstorms with the possibility of heavy rain and hail for the Stuttgart and southern Baden regions on Friday evening.
