There are "first indications of a criminal cyber attack," the university said in a statement. Investigations with the Baden-Württemberg Cyber ​​Security Agency and the State Criminal Police Office are ongoing.

E-mail traffic, VPN access for students and employees as well as the e-learning platform Ilias are affected.

According to the announcement, students who cannot meet deadlines due to the technical failure do not have to expect any negative effects on their academic performance.

Around 8,200 people study at the university. It is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the southwest. The focus is on technology, business and IT.
