Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: A19 south of Rostock closed at the weekend

Laage (dpa/mv) - The Autobahn 19, which runs in the direction of Berlin, will be completely closed south of Rostock over the weekend. From Friday evening 6:00 p.m. to Monday morning 7:00 a.m., drivers in both directions must use detours. According to Autobahn GmbH, the reason for this is the demolition of the already closed motorway bridge at the Laage junction.

The diversions would be signposted and would run in the direction of Berlin from the Laage junction via the federal highway 103 and Güstrow to the Glasewitz junction. In the opposite direction, the diversion also runs from Laage via the B103 to the Kavelstorf junction.

The bridge that carries the B103 over the autobahn was closed for a short time last summer due to structural damage. A temporary bridge was released earlier this year. According to earlier information, Autobahn GmbH plans to complete a new replacement building by mid-2023.
