Baden-Württemberg: KSC loses in Hanover: Captain Gondorf sees yellow and red

Hanover (dpa / lsw) - Karlsruher SC has suffered its fourth competitive defeat in a row and is only four points ahead of the relegation zone in the 2nd Bundesliga. The Badeners lost 0-1 (0-0) at Hannover 96 on Sunday. The Lower Saxony stay tuned to the lead group with the win.

Hendrik Weydandt scored his first goal of the season in the 56th minute. The guests then weakened themselves: Captain Jerôme Gondorf received the yellow-red card (62nd). 96 goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler fended off two dangerous actions by Karlsruhe with two quick-reacting actions shortly before the end of the game and secured the 96 success.

The KSC was slightly superior in the first half. Ex-Hanoverian Marcel Franke caused a legitimate penalty with a foul on Maximilian Beier. Havard Nielsen failed with this, however, to Karlsruhe goalkeeper Marius Gersbeck (43rd).

A collision with Hanover's Max Besuschkow ended the debut of KSC midfielder Leon Jensen after almost 20 minutes.
