Baden-Württemberg: Man wants to settle dispute and is beaten up

Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - A man tried to settle a dispute between young people in Mannheim and was beaten up. The 53-year-old had called the police after he had been verbally attacked during his mediation attempt on Friday, the police said on Saturday. The youths beat him, pushed him to the ground and kicked his head. The group was able to get away before police arrived and stole the man's cell phone beforehand. The victim sustained a laceration to the head. Another man, who, according to the police, also wanted to mediate, was attacked by the young people and injured his elbow.
