Baden-Württemberg: SPD and FDP are discussing the application for dismissal against Strobl

With the support of his CDU, the interior minister skilfully withdrew from the letter affair. The opposition does not want to accept that. She wants to test the loyalty of the green-black coalition in the state parliament.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The SPD and FDP parliamentary groups are discussing a joint application for dismissal against Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) on Tuesday. It is considered certain that the application will be made in the state parliament this week, the German Press Agency learned from faction groups. The parliamentary group leaders Andreas Stoch (SPD) and Hans-Ulrich Rülke (FDP) have already invited to a press statement on the Strobl case for the afternoon (3:30 p.m.). The opposition is outraged that Strobl is allowed to remain in office, although he wants to pay a fine of 15,000 euros for the termination of the procedure in the so-called letter affair. He had forwarded a letter from a lawyer to a journalist.

The SPD and FDP obviously want to test whether the members of the green-black coalition support Strobl in the same way as Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann by voting on the application for dismissal. The green head of government said on Friday that the matter was settled for him with the termination of the procedure.
