Baden-Württemberg: SPD local politicians take a look at local elections in 2024

Esslingen (dpa / lsw) - In just under two years there will be local elections in Baden-Württemberg again - reason for the Southwest SPD to think about important issues on the local agenda for the next few years. Around 100 local politicians met on Saturday in Esslingen at a congress organized jointly with the Social Democratic Society for Local Politics (SGK). "The fact that we have put a social democratic "scent mark" in the municipalities in recent months and years has to do with great personalities," said SPD state and parliamentary group leader Andreas Stoch.

At the congress, elected representatives should exchange ideas and network and prepare themselves for the local elections in May 2024. Chancellor Olaf Scholz sent a greeting in the morning.

In addition to Stoch, the Mayor of Karlsruhe, Frank Mentrup, and Barbara Bosch, State Councilor for Civil Society and Citizen Participation, spoke at the congress. In four forums, the congress guests also had the opportunity to find out about topics such as "City in Transition", "Social City", "Low-Conflict City" and "Resilient City" and to develop approaches for action.
