Bavaria: motorcyclist dies after unsuccessful overtaking manoeuvre

Munich (dpa / lby) - A man crashed his motorcycle into a car in Upper Franconia and died. The 34-year-old tried to overtake a car near Kronach with his machine on Friday, the police said on Saturday. He lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a car. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist flew onto the railway tracks that ran alongside the road. He died at the scene of the accident. The 27-year-old driver and his 24-year-old passenger were seriously injured and taken to a hospital. The main road and railway line remained closed for several hours.
