Baden-Württemberg: State and EU support projects against youth poverty

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is funding ten projects against youth poverty in 2023: There are a total of six million euros for this, half comes from the European Union and half from the state. Minister of Social Affairs Manne Lucha (Greens) announced on Friday in Stuttgart that it was about projects with preventive measures as well as projects intended to alleviate the consequences of youth poverty.

"More than every fifth child in Germany is affected by poverty." Participation in society should not depend on the parents' wallets. The aim of the funding projects is to reduce inequalities in society and to offer as many children and young people as possible the same good starting opportunities.
