Baden-Württemberg: There are SUPs from the machines at Friedrichshafen train station

Friedrichshafen (dpa / lsw) - From the train straight onto the water: this is now possible on Lake Constance. Deutsche Bahn has been testing a machine for renting stand-up paddles (SUPs) at Friedrichshafen station since Tuesday, the company announced. Travelers can rent an inflatable SUP including an air pump, packed in a backpack, for half a day or a whole day at the station forecourt. It costs between 20 and 50 euros. Cooperation partner is the SUP rental "kolula", which maintains boards and machines. Water sports enthusiasts can book the SUPs online, take them out of a locker and put them back in after paddling.

According to Bahn, the offer should make the station more attractive. The company is testing it for six weeks and, if the response is good, plans to implement it at other locations next summer. In the pilot phase there is another SUP machine in Herrsching am Ammersee in Bavaria.
