Baden-Württemberg: Train derailed: Federal police determined against train drivers

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Because of a derailed train at Stuttgart Central Station, the federal police have started investigations against the train driver. A spokeswoman said on Tuesday that the 55-year-old was initially suspected of dangerous intervention in rail traffic. The "Stuttgarter Nachrichten" and the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" had previously reported. The train jumped off the rails shortly before Stuttgart Central Station on Monday. Passengers were not affected. According to the police's previous findings, a signal was run over during shunting. It is now being determined whether the signal was set incorrectly or whether the engine driver had overlooked it.
