Bavaria: 14-year-old hit by car and seriously injured

Ingolstadt (dpa / lby) - A 14-year-old cyclist was hit by a car in Ingolstadt and seriously injured. The teenager was driving on the street next to his 15-year-old companion late Saturday evening, the police said on Sunday. Both bicycles were therefore not illuminated. The 21-year-old driver recognized the two cyclists too late and caught the 14-year-old from behind. He hit his head on the windshield of the car and was thrown to the right onto the grass verge. He was taken to hospital with multiple fractures and bruises. The 15-year-old was unharmed.
