Bavaria: 1860 Munich demands Dortmund: 1. FC Nuremberg away

Munich (dpa / lby) - At the start of the DFB Cup season, there will be a highlight game on Friday (8.45 p.m.) between third division club TSV 1860 Munich and Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund. The "Lions" also rely on their own fans for their chance of a first-round surprise. Coach Michael Köllner hopes for a "frantic audience" in the Grünwalder stadium, which is sold out with 15,000 spectators. "We need a day where we clearly surpass ourselves," said Köllner on the task against BVB. The game will be broadcast live on ZDF free-to-air television.

Of the nine Bavarian clubs, 1. FC Nürnberg will be in action alongside the "Löwen" on Friday (6 p.m.). The Franconian second division team takes on the boost from the recent derby win against SpVgg Greuther Fürth at regional division club 1. FC Kaan-Marienborn. "I'm optimistic that we'll perform well," said Nuremberg coach Robert Klauß about the supposedly mandatory task in North Rhine-Westphalia.
