Kollnburg (dpa / lby) - In a fire in an agricultural property in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen, half of the cattle kept there died. 19 out of 38 cattle fell victim to the flames on Tuesday evening, the police said. According to initial findings, the fire in the cattle barn was probably due to a technical defect. Numerous agricultural implements and vehicles were destroyed. The police estimate the amount of damage at 500,000 to 600,000 euros.
The barn burned to the full, the fire also spread to a silo and trees, it said. More than 300 firefighters could have prevented the flames from spreading to other buildings. According to initial information, no one was injured.
