Regensburg (dpa / lby) - After a 19-year-old was stabbed in Regensburg, the 25-year-old suspect was admitted to a specialist clinic. A placement order was issued against the man on Thursday, among other things, on suspicion of attempted murder, according to a police spokesman.
The 19-year-old was taken to a hospital after the crime on Wednesday, underwent emergency surgery for several hours and is said to be in critical condition. The young man was inflicted with serious stab and cut injuries in an apartment building. The background to the fact is still unclear. The suspect did not comment on the matter.
According to police reports, the two men did not know each other. There are suspicions that could justify a possible reduced or abolished criminal responsibility, it said. In addition, the investigators assume that they have found the alleged murder weapon.
The police had previously entered the apartment with a special unit and then searched for a man around 30 years old. The 25-year-old turned himself in with a lawyer to the police in the evening.
