Bavaria: 335,000 euros stolen with tests: man and woman accused

Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - A man and a woman in Upper Bavaria are said to have tried to illegally settle more than 335,000 euros with corona tests. The general public prosecutor's office in Nuremberg, which is responsible for fraud and corruption in the health care system, brought charges against the 31-year-old and the 34-year-old at the Munich district court, among other things, on charges of commercial fraud. In addition, the two are said to have issued negative test certificates without a quick test being carried out.

The two accused are said to have operated a corona test station in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen from January 26 until their arrest in mid-April 2022 and during this time billed significantly more quick tests to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVB) than they actually carried out, like them prosecutor announced on Monday. As a result, they are said to have wrongly received a good 150,000 euros by the end of February. The remaining amount was not paid out because the police and public prosecutor informed the KVB about the investigation.
