Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - Many people know the novel "Effi Briest" from German lessons at school. It has already been filmed several times, performed as a play or opera and adapted into a radio play. Now it's also being staged as a musical - according to the Nuremberg city musical, this hasn't existed before.
The production celebrates its premiere on Saturday in the Heilig-Geist-Saal in Nuremberg. A total of 25 performances are planned until January. The novel "Effi Briest" by Theodor Fontane from 1894/1895 tells the story of a young woman who rebels against the social constraints of the Wilhelmine era and is therefore rejected.
