Rome/Munich (dpa/lby) - The CSU-affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation is now also represented in the Italian capital Rome with its own office. "The aim is to discuss urgent European issues with Italy and other European partners and to look for solutions together and provide European answers," said the foundation's chairman and CSU MEP Markus Ferber at the office opening this Wednesday in Rome.

The office is located in the Istituto Luigi Sturzo at Via delle Coppelle 35 in the city center and is managed by Silke Schmitt. She is also responsible for relations with the Vatican. The Hanns Seidel Foundation is present in more than 70 countries worldwide. In Europe, it already has offices in Brussels, London, Paris, Prague and Zagreb.
