Heimertingen (dpa / lby) - A 64-year-old ended up with the police twice after a chaotic drive through Heimertingen (Unterallgäu district). As the officials announced on Sunday, the man first drove into a street lamp on Saturday evening, then against a garden fence and a traffic sign before stopping in a supermarket parking lot.
A witness alerted the police, who picked up the man at the supermarket checkout when he was buying more alcohol. The officials took the 64-year-old to the station, and an alcohol test showed a value of more than 2.0 per mille. After being released from police, the man drank his previously purchased alcohol, fell asleep on a sidewalk - and then ended up with the police a second time, this time in a drunk tank. The 64-year-old has lost his driver's license for the time being, officials said.
