Bischofsmais (dpa/lby) - A fire in an old hotel complex in Bischofsmais-Habischried (Regen district) is estimated to have caused damage of at least three and a half million euros. The fire in the large, abandoned building broke out late on Saturday evening for reasons that have not yet been clarified, the police said. When the first emergency services arrived, meter-high flames were already coming out of the roof of the building, which is directly adjacent to a forest. So far, however, it has been possible to prevent the fire from spreading. Nobody got hurt. A total of around 350 firefighters were deployed.
According to the police, the building, which was formerly used as a hotel, is a building that has been shut down for years and is becoming more and more dilapidated. Such places are also called "Lost Places".
