Bavaria: Golda Schultz receives a special prize from the Bavarian Culture Prize

Munich (dpa / lby) - The singer Golda Schultz is awarded this year's special prize of the Bavarian Culture Prize. "A fantastic firework of tones fills the stage when Golda Schultz sings," said Art Minister Markus Blume (CSU) on Friday in Munich. The native South African, who most recently appeared at the Bavarian State Opera, among others, is "a gifted soprano who conquers the big stages of the world with extraordinary energy, great versatility and a fantastic voice".

The Bavarian Culture Prize was first awarded in 1959 by Bayernwerk and its predecessor companies. Since 2005, the culture prize has been awarded in cooperation with the Bavarian Ministry of Science and Art. The ministry also awards the special prize. The award ceremony is to take place on November 10th in Munich's Eisbachstudios.
