Rosenheim (dpa / lby) - After the publication of a YouTube video, the police are investigating a possible banned car race with a sports car in Upper Bavaria. The recordings showed a young man driving a sports car at well over 200 kilometers per hour on highways 8 and 93, among other things, the investigators said on Monday. At one point, the video shows the top speed of 333 kilometers per hour on the car's speedometer - with normal traffic.
Occasionally, the man is said to have asked other drivers to engage in a short "acceleration duel" by making eye contact. According to their own statements, the officials are therefore investigating a prohibited motor vehicle race, traffic hazard and other violations. The investigators are looking for witnesses to the trip on November 11th. The video of the incident has since been removed from the platform by YouTube, a police spokesman said.
