Neustadt/Donau (dpa/lby) - A man attacked several men with a machete in a workers' accommodation in Lower Bavaria. A roommate of the 40-year-old was slightly injured in the shoulder and chest, the police said on Monday. The attack on Sunday was preceded by a dispute among several residents of the accommodation in Neustadt an der Donau (Kelheim district). A 22-year-old is said to have handed the man the machete.
Police officers arrested the attacker without resistance a short time after the attack. He is now being investigated for attempted homicide. A magistrate should decide on Monday whether the 40-year-old and the 22-year-old should be remanded in custody. The cause of the dispute initially remained unclear.
