Munich (dpa / lby) - Bavaria was blessed with lottery millionaires in 2022. Gamblers have raked in seven-digit sums 31 times here, just like in Baden-Württemberg, as the German lottery and pool block announced on Wednesday in Hanover. There were only more lucky hits in North Rhine-Westphalia, where prizes in the millions were paid out 45 times. Nationwide, 187 players achieved such high sums.
But people also paid a lot for their happiness. They spent 7.97 billion euros to play, 0.9 percent more than in 2021. According to the announcement, the state lottery companies distributed winnings of 3.9 billion euros. Incidentally, the numbers 49 and 1 were drawn most frequently, followed by 16. The 45 ended up in last place.
