Bavaria: student killed: investigation before completion

Aschau im Chiemgau (dpa/lby) - After the killing of a student from Aschau im Chiemgau, the police expect the investigation to be completed in a few weeks. The police reported on Friday that the owner of a "Holzkern" wristwatch that had been found in the vicinity of the crime, who had been wanted for months, had been found. However, it has been proven that he had nothing to do with the crime. "This important lead could thus be closed." An adolescent has been in custody for weeks on suspicion of a crime.

The officials assume that they will be able to hand over a final investigation report to the public prosecutor's office in a few weeks. In addition, however, expert opinions are still pending.

The 23-year-old celebrated on October 2nd in the "Eiskeller" club in Aschau in the Rosenheim district and did not come home afterwards. Hours later - the next day - a passer-by discovered her body downstream in the Prien. Around six weeks later, a man between 18 and 21 years old was arrested - a jogger who was seen near the club on the night of the crime.

The wristwatch had been found in a creek not far from the nightclub - near a ring that the victim had apparently lost in the creek. So the police were looking for the owner. The watch was sold to around 1,800 people in Germany and Austria. All these, but also other people should have been contacted; some of the watches had been given away. The owner of the watch was a 32-year-old man from Baden-Württemberg who had been at a company party in Aschau im Chiemgau a few days before the crime.

In the meantime, almost 700 visitors to the nightclub who had celebrated there on the evening of the crime have been questioned. The Soko "Club" could be dissolved, the police reported.
