Bavaria: Two seriously injured after an accident on a slippery road

Tutzing (dpa / lby) - In an accident on a slippery road in the Upper Bavarian district of Starnberg, five people were injured, two of them seriously. A 21-year-old came on Sunday in wintry conditions near Tutzing in a bend and then into oncoming traffic, the police said. An oncoming car with three occupants crashed head-on into the young man's skidding car.

Both the 21-year-old's passenger and a passenger in the other vehicle were seriously injured. Both were flown to hospitals in rescue helicopters. The other people involved in the accident were also taken to hospital with injuries.

The police checked the person who caused the accident to see if he had been drinking alcohol. A police spokesman reported that blood was drawn from him. A preliminary investigation was initiated against the young man for endangering road traffic and negligent bodily harm.
