Munich (dpa/lby) - When it comes to football, Munich has always been divided into two camps: A legendary game between FC Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich revives the old city rivalry. As both clubs announced on Tuesday, the clubs will meet on October 23 (2:15 p.m.) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Munich Olympic Park. The traditional game between the two clubs should bring back memories of heated clashes for many fans.
The first teams of the "Löwen" and Bayern have played a total of 164 competitive games since 1902. "The duel between FC Bayern and TSV 1860 has a huge tradition and has delighted fans for generations," enthused Bayern legend Giovane Elber. The Brazilian will also feature at the Olympic Stadium, as will longtime 1860 forward Benny Lauth.
