Bayern: Greuther Fürth borrows U21 national player John

Fürth (dpa / lby) - SpVgg Greuther Fürth became active again on the transfer market shortly before the end of the changeover period. U21 national player Marco John is coming from Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim for a year, as the Franconians announced on Friday. The second division soccer club hopes the 20-year-old newcomer, who can be used on the left side of defense and in midfield, will give his game more offensive drive.

"We get even more flexibility with him - and he has an environment with us in which he can develop further and get back to the level at which he has already asserted himself," said coach Marc Schneider in the club's statement. John has 16 appearances in the Bundesliga and four in the Europa League.

The junior national player could already make his debut in the jersey of the game association away at Hannover 96 this Sunday. "Now I want to get to know everyone quickly so that I can integrate myself into the team straight away," said John.
