Alejandro Valverde, a Spanish cyclist, was struck by a car while training near Murcia. Both suffered minor injuries, Movistar reported.
Movistar tweeted that Alejandro Valverde has not suffered any injuries or broken bones after an accident Saturday riding in Alcantarilla with a friend.
The 42-year old rider, who has won 132 races, only gets scrapes and bruises. He will be kept under observation for 24 hours before being discharged from the hospital. The Spanish team said that his teammate was also in good health.
