Henley Festival: Former PM Theresa May celebrates as Boris steps down

On the day that Boris Johnson, her successor as prime minister, resigned from office, Theresa May, a former prime minister was seen enjoying the Henley Festival.

Mrs May was able to throw some shapes while Craig David played black-tie.

In July 2019, Mr Johnson replaced her, almost a year after she quit as her foreign secretary.

She was critical of recent government policies, including the plan to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda.

The festival, on the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this weekend.

On Sunday, a special closing concert will take place with Jack Savoretti and Katherine Jenkins.
